
N779XW (WH001) a efectuat joi dupa-amiaza primele teste de rulare si franare la Paine Field (PAE). Pe 21 iunie, inginerii Boeing vor efectua alte teste la sol cu primul 777-9 construit.
Vestea mai putin placuta pentru fanii acestui model: din cauza unor probleme la motoarele GE9X, primul zbor 777X a fost amanat pana spre sfarsitul anului. Chiar si asa, oficialii Boeing cu care am vorbit la Paris Air Show in primele 3 zile ale evenimentului au spus ca intrarea in serviciul comercial va avea loc tot anul viitor, asa cum au anuntat initial. Boeing va produce 5 exemplare 777X destinate testelor.
Companiile aeriene care au comandat pana acum 777X: Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Etihad, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, British Airways si All Nippon Airways. Lufthansa va fi clientul european de lansare 777X, primul lor exemplar fiind deja asamblat. Boeing va oferi clientilor doua versiuni: 777-9, urmata de 777-8, iar ulterior varianta 777X Cargo ar trebui sa debuteze, Qatar Airways dorind sa fie clientul de lansare pentru aceasta.

Our first #777X flight test airplane made its runway debut! Our teams performed a series of low-speed taxi tests, marking the first time this plane moved on its own power. This is one of many tests before the 777X takes to the skies later this year.
