Effective June 2020, Wizz Air will fly twice weekly (Tuesday, Saturday) from Bucharest to Lyon. The low-cost operator has also announced more frequencies from OTP to Tel Aviv, Milan and Turin, as well as an additional A321 for its Bucharest base.
Tickets for the new route are already on sale and can be booked from only RON 119 on wizzair.com. Just a month ago WIZZ announced new destinations from Bucharest to London Southend and Edinburgh, which gives Romanian passengers more opportunities to travel to England and Scotland. Wizz Air’s commitment to Romanian customers is underlined by the strong growth at its other nine Romanian airports as well. With a network of 148 services from Romania, WIZZ will have almost 11 million seats on sale on its Romanian routes in 2020, which represents a 10% growth year over year. WIZZ’s Romanian operations do not only provide affordable access at WIZZ’s lowest fares between Romania and the rest of Europe, but also stimulate the local job market in aviation and tourism sectors, supporting more than 7,400 jobs this year in associated industries throughout the country.
With the latest expansion of its Romanian fleet, in 2020 Wizz Air will have 28 based aircraft in Romania employing more than nearly 1,000 customer-oriented crew, who deliver excellent service on each WIZZ flight. Wizz Air now offers 148 routes to 20 countries from ten Romanian airports and has just recently welcomed its 50 millionth passenger in Romania and 20 millionth passenger in Bucharest. Both of them were awarded with EUR 250 vouchers for Wizz Air flights.
