Today, El Al’s 12th Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (4X-EDM, Jerusalem of Gold livery) arrived in Tel Aviv from Everett. Also this morning, El Al upgraded the flight to Bucharest (OTP) from the usual 737-800 to a 787-9 (4X-EDC).
4X-EDM has arrived in Tel Aviv before noon, where it was greeted with a watercannon salute. This afternoon it will operate its first commercial flight: LY325 to Paris CDG. This is the last (for the moment) 787-9 Dreamliner that El Al receives. Beginning November, El Al will get four 787-8s: 4X-ERA, 4X-ERB, 4X-ERC and 4X-ERD.
Coming back to 4X-EDC, El Al has sent it to Bucharest this morning instead of the regular 737-800 because of high demand. LY573 was a full flight, 280 passengers. Main photo: Yochai Mossi, TLV Spotters.
