The oneworld member will restart the route, previously served until March 2016, on April 6th 2020. The route will be flown with Airbus A350-900s five time weekly.
Osaka will be the 3rd Japanese destination served by QR after Tokyo Narita (flights started in 2010) and Tokyo Haneda (2014). Flights will initially begin with a 5 times weekly service, increasing to a daily service from 23 June 2020. The Airbus A350-900s used on the route will offer 36 seats in Business Class and 247 seats in Economy.

Qatar Airways currently operates a fleet of more than 250 aircraft via its hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA) to over 160 destinations worldwide. The airline has recently launched several new destinations: Rabat, Morocco; Izmir, Turkey; Malta; Davao, Philippines; Lisbon, Portugal; and Mogadishu, Somalia. The airline will add Langkawi, Malaysia and Gaborone, Botswana to its route network in October 2019 and Luanda, Angola in March 2020.
