Vopsit in Bratislava, unde a ajuns pe 15 februarie, avionul a revenit aseara la Viena. In aceasta dimineata va opera primul sau zbor comercial dupa vopsirea in retro livery, OS561 spre Zurich.
Acest retro livery a fost “purtat” de aeronavele Austrian in anii 1980 si face trimitere la reusita companiei de a reincepe zborurile lung-curier dupa o lunga perioada. Schema de vopsire retro iese in evidenta prin chevron-ul (sageata) rosie, “burta” gri a aeronavei si steagul traditional alb-rosu de pe ampenajul vertical. Vopsirea a fost facuta la Bratislava in hangarul companiei Air Livery si a durat 9 zile, fiind folosite 120 de kg de vopsea in 3 straturi.
“Tinand cont de perioada colorata a anilor ’80, acest livery era cat se poate de conservator pentru Austrian Airlines”, a declarat Isabella Reichl, Head of Marketing al companiei austriace. “Atunci, ca si acum, accentul cadea pe relatia dintre traditiile tipice Austriei si caracterul modern international.” Precedentul Airbus A320 Austrian vopsit in retro livery (OE-LBP) a fost vopsit din nou in livery standard.
