
On November 5, upon receiving the second 787-8 ordered, Uzbekistan Airways officials stated that they would order 3 more Dreamliners, this time 787-9s.
The agreement for the 3 new aircraft was signed in September with Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner. On August 31, Uzbekistan Airways received the first of two 787-8s on order, with commercial service scheduled for September 5.
Currently, Uzbekistan Airways’ two Boeing 787-8s operate from Tashkent International Airport to Dubai, Delhi, Tel Aviv, Istanbul and Moscow. The Uzbekistan Airways-Boeing partnership dates back to 1996.
