As part of expanding international cooperation, Uzbekistan’s national carrier, Uzbekistan Airways, and one of China’s largest airlines, China Southern Airlines, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The two parties agreed on a strategic expansion of cooperation in several key areas, including interline and codeshare agreements, cargo transportation, partnerships in ancillary services, and enhancing passenger experience. This agreement opens new opportunities for network integration and strengthens transport accessibility between the two countries.

The MoU lays the groundwork for deeper and more diversified collaboration between the two carriers. Uzbekistan Airways sees this agreement as an important step in its strategy to strengthen its presence in Asia and expand travel and cargo opportunities for both Uzbek and Chinese customers.

Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, Shukhrat Khudaykulov: “China is a key strategic market for Uzbekistan Airways. Cooperation with China Southern Airlines will allow us to expand our flight geography, enhance passenger comfort, and give new momentum to aviation ties between Uzbekistan and China. We believe this partnership will become a strong foundation for building the Air Silk Road of the future.”

The agreement reflects Uzbekistan Airways’ ongoing commitment to international partnership and enhanced connectivity with one of the world’s most dynamic regions. Cooperation with China Southern will offer passengers more options for reaching major economic and cultural hubs across China, with greater flexibility, smoother connections, and elevated service. Uzbekistan Airways will continue implementing its strategy to strengthen its position in the Asia-Pacific region, making Uzbekistan even more accessible for international tourism and business.
