The Economy Plus seats will give customers up to 40 per cent more legroom, allowing them to stretch out and take advantage of more space to the seat in front. This new product will be available from February 2026 on the Airbus A321XLR, A220 and Boeing 737 aircraft which operate on the airline’s expansive domestic network as well as to New Zealand and Pacific Islands. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch.
Recognising the importance of seating for frequent flyers, high-tiered members will receive complimentary access to Qantas Economy Plus, enhancing the benefits available to them. Every week, over 21,000 seats are selected by Frequent Flyers towards the front of the economy cabin.
The launch of the new Economy Plus product comes as the national carrier progresses with its historic fleet renewal program, which includes 48 next generation A321XLR aircraft on order. The first two A321XLR aircraft began flying on the domestic network in September, with a third set to arrive before the end of the year.
Qantas is taking delivery of new A321XLR and A220 aircraft with extra-legroom seating already fitted. The airline will begin reconfiguration of its 737 aircraft in December.
