Lufthansa Group Hangar One is centrally located at Frankfurt Airport, directly off the A3 highway (Airportring, Building 367). Opening hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., subject to exclusive event bookings.

Tickets are available through the online ticket shop at lufthansagrouphangar-one.com. The regular admission fee for adults is 8 EUR. All information on ticket prices and reductions for various admission categories is listed here on the Hangar One website.

To mark the opening of Hangar One on August 1st, visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities on site – from “lucky discounts” at the Worldshop to photo opportunities with Lufthansa mascot Lu and the chance to take the controls in the flight simulator (limited capacity). Additionally, the Lufthansa anniversary documentary, “We are the Journey”, will be screened exclusively on opening day. Starting September 1, the documentary will also be available via the in-flight entertainment system on Lufthansa long-haul flights.

On opening day, admission to Hangar One is available to visitors who have purchased a valid ticket in advance.

100 years of aviation and Lufthansa history

Visitors will experience today’s Lufthansa Group in all its facets – from its airline brands to its technical operations and logistics – and gain fascinating insight into the industry’s vision for the future. The exhibition was developed in collaboration with the agency Atelier Brückner. Several artifacts from Lufthansa’s corporate history are being made accessible to the public for the very first time. The exhibition also addresses the darkest chapter in Lufthansa’s history: its active role and responsibility during the National Socialist era.

Audio information accessible via QR code on visitors’ own smartphones and headphones complements and deepens the content presented on the display panels. A specially designed audio guide for children, available in easy-to-understand language, takes young explorers on a playful journey through the Lufthansa world.

Two historic aircraft on display

At the heart of the exhibition are two historic aircraft: the Junkers Ju 52 D-AQUI from the pioneering years of the first Lufthansa, and the Lockheed Super Star D-ALAN as a symbol of Lufthansa’s new beginning in the 1950s. These two icons of the skies give Hangar One its unmistakable character. Visitors will be able to experience the Super Star from the inside as well, expected from the end of the year. The Ju 52 opens its cabin door at select events.

Meeting rooms and event spaces

In addition to visiting the exhibit, the Follow-me Bar invites guests to enjoy a culinary break surrounded by aviation-history. In the shop, aviation fans can purchase exclusive items – from limited collector’s pieces to specially designed objects centered on the Ju 52 and Super Star. The café and shop remain open throughout visiting hours.

Hangar One also offers first-class infrastructure for corporate or private events. Seven meeting rooms and various event spaces are available; even the bar on board the Super Star can – expected from 2027 – be rented for an exclusive event. A special highlight is a flight simulator featuring the original cockpit of a Diamond DA42 training aircraft, providing an authentic flying experience.
