Leveraging the JR East Group’s extensive domestic network centered in eastern Japan and JAL Cargo’s global network, the new service will be launched on January 13th. This initiative follows a successful trial shipment from Sendai to Singapore in October 2025, demonstrating the service’s efficiency and reliability. Both companies will deepen their collaboration to expand the transportation network and further enhance service offerings.
Significantly reduced lead time
By integrating the frequent and punctual Shinkansen train service with JAL’s fast long-distance flights, this service achieves remarkable reductions in transit time compared to conventional transport methods.
Extensive network connectivity
By combining the JR East Group’s regional rail network with JAL’s global air network, the service enables broader international market access, facilitating increased exports of premium local products from Japan.
Contributing to challenges
Utilizing rail transport helps address driver shortages and reduces CO₂ emissions through modal shifts, thereby supporting sustainable logistics and environmental goals.
