The info comes straight from Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline, who made this statement on Sunday, September 22nd, at a media briefing in Dubai.
Initially, the new Premium Economy cabin should have debuted on Emirates’ Boeing 777X (150 ordered at Dubai Airshow 2013), but with the delays caused by the GE9X engine problems and the blown cargo door during the final load testing on the 777X static test airplane, Tim Clark stated: ” I doubt we will receive it by June 2020″.
If there are no more delays with the 777X program, Emirates should receive its first 777X in January 2021. For the moment, the first flight of this new widebody is still scheduled for “early 2020”. via Arabian Business
