Emirates’ Airbus A380 made its first-ever visit to Jakarta, to carry AC Milan back to Italy following the club’s friendly match against Chelsea FC as part of its 2026 summer pre-season tour in Indonesia.

The arrival of the double-decker aircraft at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport was a unique moment for fans across Indonesia, who were eager to witness the iconic aircraft touch down in Jakarta for the first time.
The Emirates A380 arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on 8 August before departing shortly after midnight on 9 August. Although the visit was brief, the aircraft’s historic debut attracted significant interest from plane spotters and aviation enthusiasts, many of whom gathered to witness its first landing and departure from Jakarta.
Emirates has served Indonesia since 1992, celebrating more than 30 years of connecting the island nation to the world. The airline currently operates 14 weekly flights between Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and Dubai, alongside two daily services between Denpasar’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) and Dubai. Through its Dubai hub, Emirates offers seamless onward connections to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.
