Tulum Felipe Carillo Puerto International Airport (TQO) was opened in December 2023. Discover Airlines is the first European airline to fly to the new airport. It is also the first landing of a widebody aircraft there.

The months between December and April are considered the ideal time to travel to the region, as they fall within the dry season. Tulum is known for its idyllic beauty, endless sandy beaches, turquoise waters and well-preserved Mayan ruins. The city is also an ideal starting point for visiting Bacalar, Chetumal or other destinations in the southern Riviera and exploring more remote attractions such as the Sian Ka’an biosphere or Mayan sites like Cobá.

Tulum is the second Mexican destination in Discover Airlines’ route network and complements the year-round, up to four-weekly service between Frankfurt and Cancún. With the addition of the new destination, the airline is expanding the Lufthansa Group’s route portfolio to Mexico with another dream destination.
