While Orlando and Windhoek will be served three times a week from Munich all year round, the three weekly flights to Calgary will be replaced in winter by up to three weekly flights to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. All four destinations have never been served from Munich before or were last served a long time ago.

Lufthansa Group’s leisure airline has been flying to numerous short and medium-haul destinations from Munich since last spring. This summer, an additional Airbus A320 will expand the Munich fleet to a total of eight aircraft (2x A330 and 6x A320). In addition to the new long-haul connections, the airline’s flight schedule includes 32 holiday destinations and an average of over 80 weekly departures on short-, medium- and long-haul routes this summer.

From the Canary Islands and numerous Mediterranean destinations to Varna and Burgas in Bulgaria or Bodø in Norway and Reykjavík in Iceland, the leisure airline’s offer from Munich is once again significantly larger and more varied than last year.

Alongside Frankfurt, Munich Airport is Discover Airlines’ second home base, where it is operating 8 aircraft this year. All flights depart from Terminal 2, ensuring seamless transfers between Discover Airlines and Lufthansa, which is particularly important for long-haul feeder flights. Discover Airlines employs around 400 people in the cockpit, cabin and on the ground in Munich this year.
