Following the successful introduction of other city destinations such as New York and Bangkok on long-haul routes, Condor is now also following the growing trend of combining business travel and leisure on short-haul routes – “bleisure” for short.
“With the 8 new city connections, each of which is included in the summer flight schedule once a day, Condor is expanding its offering to include exciting city destinations where you can have a fantastic time,” says Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor. “After all, Condor has long since ceased to be a classic vacation airline: we are consistently developing our flight schedule in line with the needs of our guests. Added to this are the exorbitantly rising location costs in Germany, which have prompted us to relocate a total of five aircraft to Zurich, Vienna, Prague, Milan and Rome in order to grow economically there.”
Several other airlines had already announced that they would be shifting capacities in response to the ever-increasing government location costs in Germany. Condor will also be shifting flights to markets where there is high demand for city connections such as Frankfurt, but also for tourist programs on the part of local tour operators. For this reason, an additional aircraft to Zurich, an aircraft to Vienna and, for the first time, aircraft to Prague, Milan and Rome are to be stationed from Germany next summer.
