Brussels Airlines successfully concluded the financial year 2024 with an adjusted EBIT of 59 million euros, representing another record result and an increase of 11% compared to 2023.

Brussels Airlines operated 2% fewer flights in 2024 than in the year before; however, available seat capacity (ASK) increased by 1%. While the airline was unable to secure a wet-lease partner to expand capacity on its European network during the summer season, it added an additional long-haul aircraft (Airbus 330) to the fleet, boosting capacity on the intercontinental network.
Throughout 2024, the Belgian carrier was one of the most reliable airlines in Europe. Brussels Airlines ranks as 4th most punctual network operator in Europe according to Cirium-data. American consumer platform Airhelp even named Brussels Airlines ‘Best Airline’ globally for its balance between on-time performance, claim processing and overall customer experience.
Brussels Airlines will add two aircraft to its own fleet (one Airbus 330 for long-haul flights and one Airbus 320 for short- and medium-haul flights) and has a wet-lease contract with Air Baltic, which will operate 4 Airbus 220 aircraft on behalf of Brussels Airlines during the busy summer season. This makes Brussels Airlines the strongest growing airline within Lufthansa Group.
In 2025, Brussels Airlines celebrates 100 years of air travel between Belgium and the African continent. This is a milestone and at the same time a strong proof of Brussels Airlines’ enduring bond with Africa. For the Belgian airline, its extensive sub-Saharan African network always was, and will always be, an integral part of its DNA.
The airline is confidently looking into the future, with even more convenience for all passengers: Brussels Airlines plans to renovate THE LOFT, the award-winning lounge in the A-zone of Brussels Airport. Moreover, the airline is currently working on new cabins for its long-haul fleet which will be introduced starting 2027.
Already this year, passengers on all classes on long-haul flights will see product enhancements being rolled out. From more beverage options in Economy Class, to a new service concept in Business Class.
