What this means is refurbishing old aircraft in our fleet to install new seats in a three-class cabin configuration, carpets, curtains, lavatories, and more along with a fresh coat of paint, new livery – all in the new Air India branding.
The retrofit program is an important step forward in Air India’s transformation journey. As we advance, it will help provide a consistent experience across the fleet with a three-class cabin configuration with luxurious Business Class seats, India’s only Premium Economy, and an enhanced Economy cabin.
At present, more than 50% (106 of 198) of the Air India aircraft offer new or upgraded cabin interiors. Progressively, more aircraft will be upgraded.
