Air Malta wants the fly to the United States and India with Airbus A321XLR

Last week, at CAPA World Aviation Outlook Summit in Malta, Air Malta’s chairman told Air Transport World the carrier plans to introduce two Airbus A321XLR in its fleet in 2024 to start long-haul flights to US and India destinations.

The A321XLRs will be sourced from Malta Medair. Now, Malta Medair has one A320. “An India connection is important if the local economy will continue to grow”, stated Charles Mangion. Currently, Air Malta has 7 Airbus A320 and three A320neo. In the future, Air Malta wants to introduce 2 more A320neo to its fleet, while phasing out A320ceos. via ATW
