“Expanding the fleet and introducing more modern aircraft is part of our long-term development strategy. In this way, we boost our operational capacities and improve passenger experience, connecting Belgrade with numerous destinations in Europe and the world. Continuous fleet modernisation enables us to keep our leading position in the region and ensure a high level of efficiency and comfort. We expect another airplane of the same type in the coming period, which will further improve flexibility in planning traffic,” said Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.

The Embraer E-195 is powered by two General Electric engines with 18,500 lbf (82.29 kN) each. The airplane has a 28.72-metre wingspan, a length of 38.67 metres, and a maximum flight altitude of 41,000 feet (12,500 metres). Before it arrived in Serbia, the airplane was given Air Serbia’s visual identity, with recognisable colours and markings of the national carrier, in San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital, where the painting and preparation of the airplane were performed. The Air Serbia flight crew that flew the plane from Costa Rica to Belgrade consisted of captain Damir Maršić and first officer Aleksandar Krstić.

Air Serbia’s fleet currently consists of 29 aircraft: 4 Airbus A330-200s, three A320-200, nine A319-100, three Embraer E-195, and ten ATR 72-600.
