Flights are scheduled with evening departures, optimizing connectivity within Europe, and maximizing travelers’ time at their destination. The route is operated with Airbus A350s, carrying around 300 passengers. The route has been well received, and SAS will already increase capacity for next summer by 50%, with up to six weekly flights from June 2026.

Interest in Korea among Scandinavian travelers has surged in recent years, inspired by the country’s blend of tradition and modernity. At the same time, the new route offers Korean travelers access to Scandinavia’s natural beauty, vibrant cities, and onward connections to over 100 destinations across Europe with SAS.

“This is an exciting day for SAS and our passengers. With our inaugural flight to Seoul, we are not only responding to strong customer demand but also strengthening the ties between Scandinavia and one of Asia’s most vibrant hubs. Seoul is a global center of culture, innovation, and business, and we are proud to add it to our growing intercontinental network,” says Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS.

With this launch, SAS now offers 14 intercontinental destinations from Copenhagen, connecting travelers to more than 100 destinations across Europe. The expansion underscores SAS’ commitment to developing Copenhagen as a leading global hub and enhancing its role as Scandinavia’s gateway to the world.

Seoul’s Incheon International Airport is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world – it handled 70 million passengers and nearly 3 million tons of freight in 2024. Its role as a major gateway further strengthens the strategic importance of this new connection.
